This large country estate close to the picturesque village of Rothbury, is home the magnificent Cragside House one the home of the industrialist Lord Armstrong. He had the vision to construct a new forest on the rocky hillside and a stunning house that looks like it grew out of the rocks. There is a stream that runs through the valley from a large lake with paths going down below the house. Above the house the forest has a large circular road with a number of car parks. Each of these parks allows one access to different, forest, quarry and lakeside views. There are many paths to explore with several surprising features that make interesting images.
